Which SEO accounts should you be following on Twitter?
Search Engine Optimisation is an ever evolving world, keeping abreast of what is going on can be difficult and time consuming. What if there was a platform that provided updates in 280 (although I wish it was still 140) characters? Here are a few of the Twitter accounts we follow to ensure that we never miss any updates…
1. Rand Fishkin
Twitter Handle: @randfish
One of the most recognisable names in SEO, Rand is a co founder of legendary SEO tool Moz. Besides a ‘suit’ at one of the biggest Marketing related companies in the world he is almost always ahead of the curve when it comes to SEO providing detailed and helpful insights into Search Engine Optimisation. His blog posts can often be a read read if not a little ‘to the point’!
2. Google Search Liason Account/Danny Sullivan
Twitter Handle: @searchliaison
Twitter Handle: @dannysullivan
Two for the price of one here. Search Engine Marketers felt left out in the cold by Google when SE legend Matt Cutts left Google for pastures new, but Danny Sullivan has picked up some of the slack since he left. Danny founded one of our favorite marketing news sites Search Engine Land, and is now better known as Google’s Public Search Liaison. Following on from this is Google’s actual Search Liaison Twitter account, much of what we think about SEO comes from hypothesis and testing, anything Google actually confirms as fact will be released through this account (take recent algorithm updates.)
Twitter Handle: @rustybrick
Barry Schwartz is the founder and editor of another of our favorite digital marketing sites, Search Engine Roundtable, he also worked closely with the above mentioned Danny Sullivan at Search Engine Land as well. Barry hosts his own Search Marketing podcasts and is the organiser of the yearly Seach Marketing Expo in Israel. This guys doesn’t miss a trick and is firmly entrenched in all aspects of Digital Marketing
Twitter Handle: @aleyda
Working in Digital since 2005 Aleyda began as a Web Developer before quickly moving into a role in SEO, over the following years roles at WooRank and Moz lead to her becoming one of the most recognised figures in Search Engine Marketing. Currently an international SEO consultant Aleyda has spoken at over a 100 events worldwide, been featured in Forbes, Entrepreneur, The Huffington Post and was winner of European Search Personality of the Year in 2018. Posting about her own blog articles and also pushing out great content from others on SEO she is definitely worth a follow.
These are just a few of our favorites, if you have any of your own let us know….
